Home Remedies To Remove Tartar From Teeth
Tartar is the solidification of the film of bacteria that covers the teeth and part of the gums, which ends up having a yellowish color leaving the smile with an unaesthetic appearance.
Although the best way to combat tartar is to maintain good oral hygiene to reduce the accumulation of bacteria on a daily basis and, consequently, the formation of tartar. There are also some home techniques that can help remove this tartar, when it is already present on the teeth.
However, removing tartar at home should not be a frequent practice, as it may end up being done wrongly and harm oral health. Therefore, it is best to go to the dentist to perform a scaling, popularly known as teeth cleaning.
1. Cleaning with baking soda
It is perhaps the most common way to clean and whiten teeth. In fact, according to some studies, baking soda can help fight tartar by penetrating plaque and raising the pH, preventing it from solidifying.
However, although there are effects that promise good results, some researchers argue that the continued use of baking soda, especially in high doses, may increase the porosity of the tooth, leaving it more sensitive. Ideally, this technique should be used under the guidance of a dentist.

Place a piece of toothpaste on the toothbrush, sprinkle a little baking soda on it and then brush your teeth, usually for 2 minutes. At the end, rinse your mouth with water.
This technique can be done 2 to 3 times a week, for 2 weeks or according to the dentist’s guidance.
2. Rinse with coconut oil
Another way to remove tartar naturally and that has good results in some studies is the use of coconut oil. This is because the oil apparently eliminates a large part of the bacteria present in the mouth, preventing the formation of tartar. In addition, when used at least 1 time a day, for 30 days, it can whiten teeth.

How to prepare for use
Place the spoon in the mouth and rinse with the oil for 5 to 10 minutes, 1 to 2 times a day. At the end, spit the oil into the trash, then rinse the mouth with water. It is recommended to avoid spitting the oil into the sink, since, over time, it can clog the drain.
It is normal that at first it is difficult to rinse for several minutes at a time, so the idea is to start with a few minutes and gradually increase the time.
