When should you use straps and when should you use the hook grip?

Many people have a hard time with grip and believe that straps are the answer. However, this is not always the case. The best way to find out what will work for you is to try both out and see which one feels most comfortable in your hands. In order to figure out which method works best for you, set up an experiment with yourself!

For example: if you are doing pull-ups or chin ups, try using a handle that has straps on it one day and then use a hook grip the next day. Then compare how it felt while performing each exercise so you can decide which technique worked better for you!
