Should you avoid certain exercises if your ribcage is showing?
If you have weak core muscles, your ribcage may show through your abdominal muscles. This is called having a “visible rib cage” and it can look unattractive or make clothing fit poorly.
In order to stop this from happening, there are some exercises that will help strengthen the area around the ribs so they won’t show as much. For example, planks with arms extended and plank variations such as side planks. These types of exercises target the transverse abdominis muscle which helps keep in tight stomach muscles and reduce appearance of a visible rib cage! Give these exercises a try next time you’re at the gym!
