    Place the ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil for 10 to 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, strain and drink 2 times a day or 30 minutes before bedtime. 

    Along with valerian tea you can also ingest a melatonin supplement, since, in addition to helping regulate sleep, melatonin also has a strong antioxidant action and possibly helps prevent the emergence of new migraine attacks. 

    Valerian tea should not be used for more than 3 months or during pregnancy. 

    3. Tansy tea

    Tansy, scientifically known as Tanacetum parthenium, is a medicinal plant that has a strong effect against migraine, as it helps to relieve pain and also prevents the occurrence of new attacks. 

    This tea can be used during a migraine attack or can be drunk on a regular basis to prevent the occurrence of new attacks. 

    Ingredients

  • 15 g of tansy leaves;
  • 500 mL of boiling water.
  • Mode of preparation

    Place the tansy leaves in the boiling water and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Then strain, allow to cool and drink up to 3 times a day. 

    This plant should not be used during pregnancy or by people who are under treatment with anticoagulants, since it increases the risk of bleeding. 

    Another way to use tansy is to take the capsules, as it is easier to control the amount of active substances. In this case, it should be taken up to 125 mg per day or according to the manufacturer’s or phytotherapist’s directions. 

    4. Petasites hybridus

    The use of the medicinal plant Petasites hybridus has been associated with a decrease in the frequency of migraine and, for this reason, its intake may help prevent the occurrence of new attacks, especially in people who suffer from migraine on a regular basis. 

    How to use

    Petasites should be ingested in capsule form in doses of 50 mg, 3 times a day for 1 month. After this initial month, 2 capsules per day should be taken. This natural plant is contraindicated during pregnancy.
