5 Teas To Regulate Menstruation

Menstruation regulating teas generally help to balance hormone levels in women, allowing menstruation to come on a more regular period. However, as most also stimulate the contraction of the uterus, they should not be used by pregnant women, as it may increase the risk of miscarriage.

This tea is contraindicated in case of pregnancy, suspected pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

2. CimicĂ­fuga racemosa tea

This herb also called black cohosh is a medicinal plant that helps to restore a regular menstrual cycle, promoting menstruation and relaxation of the uterus.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of the dried herb;
  • 1 cup of boiling water.
  • Method of preparation:

    Place the dried herb inside the cup with boiling water and let it steep for 10 minutes. After straining the infusion, wait until it is lukewarm and drink 2 to 3 cups a day. This tea can be used for a period of 2 to 3 months, until the cycle is regulated. However, it should not be used by pregnant women or women with a history of breast cancer.

    3. Wild yam tea

    Wild yam, also known as wild yam, is a medicinal plant traditionally used to relieve menopausal symptoms. However, because it contains a substance that has an estrogen-like effect, it can help regulate the menstrual cycle, especially when cycle irregularity is due to an imbalance in the levels of this hormone in the body.

    Ingredients:

  • 1 cinnamon stick;

  • 1 liter of red wine.
  • How to prepare:

    Add the cinnamon stick in a pot of boiling water and let it steep for 5 minutes. Then strain the infusion and add the red wine bringing the mixture to a simmer until it begins to boil, keeping it that way for 5 minutes. 

    Place this syrup in a dark glass bottle and in a cool, dry place. The first time you should take 200 ml every day and stop its consumption on the first day of menstruation. The following months you should take it 5 days before the date you stopped it the day before, i.e. five days before the 1st day of menstruation of the previous month.

    Ingredients:

  • 10 grams of parsley leaves;
  • 1 liter of boiling water.
  • Method of preparation:

    To make the infusion, you must colocar parsley leaves in boiling water and let it steep for 10 minutes, strain and drink 1 cup, 3 times a day preferably before meals.
