  • 5 tablespoons of calendula flowers;
  • 1 liter of water
  • How to prepare

    Bring the water to a boil, remove from heat and add the calendula flowers. Let stand for 10 minutes, strain, pour the water into a basin or large bowl and soak the feet for 10 minutes. Finally, dry the feet very well using, preferably, a hair dryer. 

    2. Hydrastis tea

    Another home remedy for athlete’s foot is the foot bath with hydrastis, as this medicinal plant also has antifungal and astringent properties, which helps fight the fungus that causes mycosis on the toes. 

    Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons of hydrastis root;
  • 1 liter of water.
  • Method of preparation

    Bring the water to a boil and add the hydrastis. Cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Then strain, pour the water into a basin or wide container and immerse the feet for 10 minutes. 

    It is important for the individual to check the temperature of the water before placing the feet in so as not to burn themselves, and after the foot bath they should dry very well between the toes to ensure that the skin is free of moisture. 

    3. Malojillo tea

    Washing the feet with malojillo tea, a plant also known as lemon grass, is an excellent home remedy for athlete’s foot on both feet and hands; since, apart from being an antifungal, it is also sedative, so it helps relieve itching and flaking of the affected region.   • 2 teaspoons of chopped malojillo leaves;

    Bring the water to a boil and place the malojillo leaves in a separate cup. After boiling, pour the water into the cup, cover, let it cool and strain, and wash the feet with this tea every day. Finally, dry the skin very well and apply an antifungal ointment. 

    4. Herbal spray

    A good home remedy for athlete’s foot is the mixture of aloe and melaleuca, as these plants have antifungal properties that help fight fungi and reduce the symptoms of athlete’s foot. 

    Ingredients

  • 125 ml of aloe vera juice;
  • ½ teaspoon of melaleuca essential oil.
  • How to prepare

    Integrate the ingredients until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, which should then be placed in a spray bottle. This mixture should be shaken well before use and should be applied twice a day on the lesions for about 1 month. After using the spray, a small massage should be performed so that the product is absorbed by the skin. It is recommended not to leave the mixture in a damp place.
