3 Juices for urinary tract infection

Urinary tract infection juices are excellent options to help in the treatment of the infection, as the fruits used to prepare these juices are diuretic and contain vitamin C, which contribute to strengthen the immune system and prevent bacteria from adhering to the urinary tract, helping to eliminate these microorganisms.

Urinary tract infection is very common in women, especially during pregnancy, with the appearance of symptoms such as pain and burning when urinating, as well as a feeling of heaviness in the bladder and increased urination.

Some juices that can help in the treatment of urinary tract infection are:

1. Watermelon and orange juice

  • 1 slice of watermelon about 5 cm;
  • 2 oranges;
  • 1/4 pineapple.
  • How to prepare:

    Peel the oranges and separate them into wedges, cut the watermelon into pieces and peel the pineapple. Blend all ingredients and strain as needed. Drink approximately 3 glasses per day until symptoms disappear.

    2. Cranberry juice

    Cranberry juice also helps to treat and prevent urinary tract infections, as it lubricates the bladder walls, preventing the adhesion and development of bacteria.

    Ingredients

  • 60 mL of water;
  • 125 mL of cranberry juice (Oxycoccus) without sugar;
  • 60 mL of apple juice without sugar.
  • How to prepare:

    Mix all ingredients and drink several glasses of this juice throughout the day at the first sign of urinary tract infection. People susceptible to this type of recurrent UTI, should drink two glasses per day as a preventive measure.

    3. Diuretic green juice

    Ingredients

  • 3 cabbage leaves;
  • 1 cucumber;
  • 2 apples;
  • Parsley;
  • half a glass of water.
  • How to prepare:

    Peel the apples and cucumber, wash all the ingredients well and mix everything in the blender and, at the end, add the water. Drink 2 glasses of this juice per day.

    These juices should only be used as an adjunct to the treatment of urinary tract infection, which is usually done with antibiotics prescribed by the urologist.
